Bark all of the time? Pull on the leash? Ignore your commands? Counter surf? Chew things it’s not supposed to? Have separation anxiety? Jump on guests? React to other dogs/people on the walk? Have anxiety or is fearful? Act aggressive towards people and/or other dogs?
Just remember, you are NOT alone! Your dog is not “broken” and there is hope for you both!
I will work with any dog…any size, any breed, any age! (** I am not taking human aggressive dogs at this time)
The key to your dog’s behavior is balance
I’m a firm believer that a dog’s behavior is directly tied to our behavior (the owner’s). Dog’s need balance in their life and if given too much of anything, such as too much freedom, too much affection (given at the wrong time), too much play time or too much inactivity, they will make bad choices. Balance comes in the form of establishing rules and holding our dogs accountable for those rules.
The majority of dog behavior issues are caused by bigger problems such as fear, anxiety, and a lack of structure and rules. By taking a balanced approach to training, we can chip away at the dog’s root issues and shift their mindset from one of fear and anxiety to that of calm and confidence.
I know what it’s like to have a difficult dog. My dog Liberty was very difficult and had several behavioral issues before dog training. She was anxious, afraid of pretty much everything, reactive to ALL dogs, fence fought with the neighbors dogs, jumped our fence daily, was kicked out of two boarding facilities and the list goes on. I finally realized enough was enough…it wasn’t fair to her to continue to let her live in a constant state of anxiety. I committed to a major lifestyle change, sent her away with a dog trainer to a two week board and train and the rest is history! It’s not always easy and training IS a lifestyle change. The sacrifices are totally worth it though…I promise you! I can help you too by creating a program that will bring consistency, peace of mind, predictability and a lifestyle that you can enjoy with your dog or puppy.
